š On This Day in Rock History
1963 ā The Beatles, already on the rise, recorded an interview for a program called, āMove Over, Dad,ā at Westward Television Studios. With mobs of fans outside the ABC Cinema, where they were set to play, they had to use a secret tunnel to get to the interview taping. This rare footage captures their humor and charm in those early years. Check out the footage, it starts off with the Beatles clowning around in a silent film, then thereās an interview about halfway through.
1965 ā A young Bruce Springsteen, still known then as part of The Castiles, performed at a Teenage Go, Go Dance at The Fire House in Hazlet, NJ. Itās wild to think of The Boss before the fame, playing small gigs and carving his path to greatness. Listen to Springsteen in his early days in ā76 and feel that raw, early magic.
1968 ā Rolling Stone Brian Jones bought the Cotchford Farm in Sussex, a place filled with history as it once belonged to Winnie the Pooh author A.A. Milne.
