1964 – The Beatles perform at The Empire Stadium, Vancouver

Glenn Hughes (b. 1951, turns 74)

James Burton (b. 1939, turns 86)
Known as the “Master of the Telecaster,” James Burton is a rock and country guitar hero—famed for his work with Elvis Presley, Ricky Nelson, and Emmylou Harris. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001.

🎂 Rock Star Birthdays

Jerry Leiber (d. 2011, age 78)
One half of the legendary songwriting duo Leiber and Stoller, Jerry Leiber penned hits for Elvis Presley, The Coasters, and countless others—think “Hound Dog” and “Jailhouse Rock.” He passed away on August 21, 2011, from cardiopulmonary failure.

"Yesterday" by The Beatles was originally titled "Scrambled Eggs" by Paul McCartney. He initially used the placeholder lyrics "Scrambled eggs, oh my baby, how I love your legs" while composing the melody. The final lyrics and title, "Yesterday," were developed later.
