1969 - The Band released their self-titled second album, forever known as "The Brown Album." 1972 - David Bowie kicked off the North American leg of his Ziggy Stardust world tour at Cleveland's Music Hall. This historic concert marked Bowie's first performance in America, introducing American audiences to the now-iconic Ziggy Stardust persona. Raymond "Boz" Burrell passed away on this date in 2006 at age 60. The British bassist and singer died of a heart attack in Spain, ending a remarkable career that saw him contribute to both progressive rock with King Crimson and supergroup success with Bad Company. Originally a vocalist, Boz taught himself bass guitar while in King Crimson before becoming the rock-solid foundation for Bad Company's blues-rock sound.
