1958 – Sam Cooke and Lou Rawls were in a near-fatal car accident in Arkansas, which sadly took the driver’s life. Listen to Sam Cooke featuring Lou Rawls- Bring It On Home To Me from 1962
1967 – The Moody Blues released “Nights In White Satin,” which didn’t top U.S. charts until its 1972 reissue. Hear it now with this Lyric Video!
1968 – Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane delivered a powerful salute on The Smothers Brothers Show, shaking up TV audiences with her black power fist after performing “Crown of Creation.” Oh yeah, she was in black face when she did it. Watch the TV performance on Smothers Brothers.
